# Versions and migration

## Supported documentation baseline: 5.2.0

The current documentation and public starter applications target
`@liveroom-tech/react-immersive@5.2.0`, published to npm on 5 October 2026.
The [machine-readable manifest](https://react-immersive.liveroom.dev/docs/manifest.json)
records the package version, peer dependencies, and documentation URLs.

| Peer                 | Supported range |
| -------------------- | --------------- |
| `react`              | `^19.0.0`       |
| `react-dom`          | `^19.0.0`       |
| `three`              | `^0.184.0`      |
| `@react-three/fiber` | `^9.6.1`        |

The Vite examples require Node `^20.19.0 || >=22.12.0`; the Next.js starter
uses Node 22.12+. These are starter tooling requirements, separate from the
React package's runtime peers.

## Upgrade a public starter previously pinned to 5.0.2

From that starter's directory:

```bash
npm install --save-exact @liveroom-tech/react-immersive@5.2.0
npm run typecheck
npm run build
```

Keep its lockfile with the updated manifest. Use React 19 and the peer ranges
above. Import SimpleModelViewer from
`@liveroom-tech/react-immersive/simple-model-viewer`, BindingBuilder from
`@liveroom-tech/react-immersive/binding-builder`, and the corresponding CSS
entry for each component. Pure data helpers can be imported from `/utils`,
including in server code.

If `defineObjectBindings` preserves literal keys in your initial data, widen
editable React state to `Record<string, ObjectBinding>`. Follow
[Getting Started](https://react-immersive.liveroom.dev/docs/getting-started) for
the complete pattern. Then verify a browser render and your intended
interactions. Back up authored bindings/scene data before changing an
existing integration.
